How To Factory Reset Netgear Extender?

If experiencing connection problems or if you want to start afresh, then resetting the Netgear extender is solution number one. Here's how to reset Netgear extender quickly.

Locate the reset button on your extender (usually a very small hole marked ‘Reset’ or ‘Factory Reset’). Press and hold the button with a paperclip or any similar tool for 10-15 seconds. Your job is done once the extender LED lights start blinking, meaning the reset process has started. Now wait for the extender to reboot, having returned to factory defaults.

Using a device, try connecting to the extender after the reset. The SSID or Network name and password are provided on the label of the extender. Open a browser and navigate to mywifiext.net to set up your extender again.

Factory resetting an extender is helpful if you change your router and troubleshoot setup issues or if you want to prepare your extender for a new network. Please note that all existing settings will be lost.

A netgear extender reset will take less than five minutes and be very beneficial in smoothing performance and connectivity.
